The Truth which was Kept from Us: Mysteries of the Past
Klaus Berger’s ‘The Truth which was Kept from Us’ is—to say the least—so intriguing you’ll drop everything you’re doing and read through it. You’ll be simply astounded upon learning about the extent of what you DON’T know—and that’s only for starters.
Indeed, ‘The Truth which was Kept from Us’ contains information that can be so shocking to many people—myself included. I mean, imagine if the majority of Jesus Christ’s teachings—which didn’t reach the great masses of people through generations—were actually made public right at the get-go, we could have spared ourselves a lot of bloodshed throughout history. On a personal note, I find the divine wisdom that author Klaus Berger so comprehensively discusses in this book so evocatively life-changing—finally, here’s something that will wash over your soul like warm rain. And when I say “comprehensively,” I’m not kidding—Berger leaves no stone unturned when he reveals not only Jesus’ hidden teachings, but also what we can do about these teachings in order to transform our very lives.
Let me suffice it to say that this is an incredibly powerful book—something you don’t read lightly, yet it’s something that you or everyone MUST read. Get a copy of this book today, especially if you’re like me who have been wondering about what we could all have been missing from the big picture. Highly recommended—also makes a great gift to like-minded friends. Five stars for this one.
Nobody Bats a Thousand
I could find my hometown in Steve's stories.......vivid accounts of people we have all known sometime in our lives. Humorous and sad tales and just everyday situations we've all been in (with a twist now and then). My Book Club read it and I want more.
Revised for Kindle, Nobody Bats a Thousand is a book of stories based on reality. The opening story, “A Bar Story”, showing a typical Friday night seen through the eyes of a middle-aged bartender, deals with conflicts that arise from changing times and generations. In “Home on the Range” a college student becomes reacquainted with his uncle, a famous touring musician, who teaches his nephew to look at life from a novel perspective. “Victims of Circumstance” centers on a young slacker and the 24 hours surrounding his 21st birthday in which he stumbles upon epiphanies about life, sex and his Vietnam veteran father. This book of literary fiction contains eight finely crafted stories about ordinary people involved in unique situations, presented in a style reminiscent of Raymond Carver, Richard Ford and David Sedaris.

Our Wild and Precious Lives by A.G. Russo
Book Summary:
In 1960 Cold War Germany, Tom
and Melly McCarron, teenage Army brats, contend with adolescence on a
small American base near Bavaria, where their father, a decorated war
veteran, begins a three-year tour of duty. As tensions in Berlin rise
between the Allies and the Soviets, and threaten to bring about World
War III, the base teenagers forge bonds of loyalty and love stronger
than any of the adults understand.
Leaving New York on a night
flight to Germany, the quiet, thoughtful Tom, and feisty, emotional
Melly, are apprehensive about life in a foreign land. While they will
attend the American high school in Würzburg, brother and sister realize
they are the only stability each has had in their young lives. They also
leave behind the sole adult they came to trust, their Aunt Deeny, a
librarian who introduced them long ago to a way to cope with life's ups
and downs—reading and books.
Confronting the overwhelming
challenges of making new friends, adjusting to a foreign environment,
and enrolling in yet another school, they also must endure their abusive
father and moody Italian war bride mother. But they are not fully aware
of how their father's wartime experiences and sacrifices have left him
scarred. Relying on their inner strength and resilience, they navigate
the boundaries of military dependents—American teenagers with the same
needs, yearnings and heartbreak as any of their generation.
On the Beach by Steve Schmale
Very good read. It makes you think about the possibility of such situations that Lenny is enduring. There are moments the story brought me to be emotional, and other times I was glad I am enjoying now a happy life.
Twenty-something Lenny Decker is a man of few plans, and he seems to like it that way. Bumming around a sleepy California beach town, Lenny appears to live a life of Zen-like slacker simplicity. His days and nights are a seemingly endless loop of visits to the local bar and pick-up basketball games, punctuated by long stretches in his apartment with only a twelve pack, a bong, and a TV of questionable quality for company.
But Lenny has a thing or two to deal with: a near brush with success in his past has left him running for the comfort of a life where the stakes aren't just low, they're non-existent. Then there's the woman who sees past Lenny's stoned exterior and is challenging him in ways he hasn't been tested in years.

Title: The Flower of Hell
A Short Story in the Van Helsing Organization Series
Author: Noree Cosper
Genre: Urban Fantasy/Paranormal Romance
Cover Artist: Rebecca Hamilton
Gabriella devoted her eternity to carrying out her vengeance against demons. As she pursues her latest prey she stumbles across another hunter. To Gabby, Dimitri is an unneeded distraction, but he attracts her like no other man has for centuries. Will this hunter unlock the feelings she’d buried long ago or will he just open her up to more heartache? Can Gabby protect both of them from the demon stalking the Paris streets?
Excerpt:
That night he took me to dinner. We supped on chicken and mushroom crepes outside a small café, enjoying the music of the street bands. As we ate, he spoke of his family.
We traveled to the top of the Eiffel tower to view the city from the world’s tallest structure. I shivered at the cold wind and Dimitri wrapped his arm around me. After a moment of hesitation, I relaxed and rested my head on his shoulder. For the first time in years I felt at peace.
“So, tell me something about you,” he said.
“I hunt demons.”
“Besides that. Hmm, how about where you are from? Is Paris your home city?”
“No, I’m from Italy.”
“Really?” he asked, surprise showing on his face. “I couldn’t tell; you have no accent.”
“I lost it in my travels.”
“Where have you traveled?” he asked, rubbing my arm.
“Europe, Asia, Africa, all over,” I said.
“So you’re a world traveler.”
“That’s where the demons are.”
“Back to the demons. Your life seems to revolve around them.”
A couple passed us. Both were smiling down at their son, who stood between them, holding their hands. A lump rose in my throat as memories threatened to overwhelm me. I stared at the city below.
“That’s what being a hunter is,” I said. “You should know.”
“Yes, but I have friends and family in my life. You don’t seem to have that.”
“Those are a liability.”
He lifted up my chin, so his gaze met mine. “Not if you find the right one.”
Dimitri’s mouth covered mine in a gentle kiss and my eyelids closed, enjoying the sweetness. My heart raced as I explored his soft lips.

About Noree Cosper
Noree Cosper loves writing about magic in the modern world. While growing up in Texas she constantly searched for mystical elements in the mundane. She buried her nose in both fiction and books about Wicca, Religion, and Mythology. Everyday became an adventure as she joined a group of role-players, acting out her fantasies of vampires, demons, and monsters living in the world.
She embraced her nerdom wholeheartedly.
Noree grew, but never left her love for fantasy and horror. Her dreams pushed her and her hand itched to write the visions she saw. So, with her fingers on the keys, she did what her heart had been telling her to do since childhood. She wrote.

To Kill a Mockingbird
What makes a book a classic? Well, of course it must me well written and edited, it’s got to reach a wide audience, and it has to stand the test of time. All those things are true, but what’s even truer of classic literature is that a book has to reach a lot of different people and impact them each as individuals to be considered a classic. The books that people know automatically—books like Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird—are books that make us think, make us wonder, bring us together to consider something that’s important to us all.
There are rarely follow ups to classic books. It just doesn’t happen. When a book like To Kill a Mockingbird makes the kind of splash it did in the literary world, it stands alone, a tribute in time. That’s why what’s about to happen on July 14 is kind of phenomenal. You see, it seems that Harper Lee’s only book is not her only book at all. Lee actually wrote another book before she wrote and published Mockingbird and that book was titled Go Set a Watchman. When Harper took Watchman to her published, she was advised to rewrite the story from the point of view of a child going through day-to-day life during the time period that her first book detailed from an adult’s view looking back on the events. Thus, the book many of us have known since childhood, To Kill a Mockingbird, was crafted. So, what happened to Go Set a Watchman? In the possession of Lee’s attorney, many assumed the work was lost, but recently Harper Lee has given her blessing for the book to be published in its entirety and without revision. The “new” work will be released on July 14, 2015, and it has caused quite a stir in the literary world.
Folks who love literature are simple on the edges of their seats, waiting to learn the fallout from the fictional trial of the decade that was the focus of To Kill a Mockingbird. They are asking questions like, “What happened to Atticus and Scout Finch?” and “Did things really change in Maycomb County, Alabama?”
The truth is we’re waiting with baited breath, too, because we want to know, and because, of course, it’s quite possible that this might be another classic in the making. We know the sort of impact Lee’s words have had on literary history and civics, and we’re waiting and wondering what kind of power Watchman will have.
If you’d like to order a certified copy of the book before it hits shelves on July 14, you are welcome to visit Harper Lee’s hometown bookstore, Ol’ Curiosities and Book Shoppe, located in Monroeville AL—yes, it was absolutely the little town Maycomb County, AL of Mockingbird fame was modeled upon-- and make sure a first edition copy is reserved in your name.
You’re welcome for the good news. Happy reading and Enjoy Go Set a Watchman!
